On Sunday 20th September, one of our amazing supporters, Aron Pearson, will be taking on an incredible 26 mile stand up paddle board
marathon at Rudyard Lake in Staffordshire to raise funds for Harry’s Pals. But he doesn’t want to do it alone.
Paddle with Purpose is a community fundraising event designed to bring people together, challenge themselves and help support parents caring for children with life limiting o
r life threatening conditions.
Earlier this year, Aron had never even stood on a paddle board. Since then, he’s been training with one goal in mind
, to complete a full marathon on the water while raising vital funds for Harry’s Pals.
Now he’s inviting others to join him.
Whether you’re an experienced paddle boarder or simply fancy taking on something different, there are challenges to suit everyone:
- 26 Mile Solo Marathon
- 13 Mile Solo Half Marathon
- 26 Mile Team Relay (teams of up to four)
You don’t need to be an elite athlete. You just need a willingness to challenge yourself and support a fantastic cause.
Every pound raised will help Harry’s Pals continue providing free counselling, therapy, peer support and short breaks for parents caring for children with life limiting or life threatening conditions. These services give families somewhere to turn when they need emotional support the most.

It just shows what can be achieved with determination and a desire to help others. We’d love as many people as possible to get involved, whether that’s by taking part, volunteering or cheering everyone on. Together we can make a real difference for families who need our support.”
