Introduction to Harry’s Pals

Harry’s Pals charity, based in Daventry, provides much needed emotional support to parents across the country who have just received a diagnosis that their son or daughter has a severe disability or illness. The Charity was launched in 2022 and has been providing life changing support to parents ever since. Harry’s Pals has big ambitions to grow and develop to support even more parents in the future and this role will have a critical part to play in that ongoing journey. We’re looking for an exceptional person to join the Harry’s Pals Team.

Main purpose of the role:

As Charity Support Officer, you will have a varied and interesting role. You will be directly working alongside and supporting the CEO to achieve the Charity’s annual objectives and to help the Charity to grow and develop to support even more parents in the future.

You will provide administrative support, maintain records and play a key role in helping to attract funding and donations and support events.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Administrative support to the CEO and Charity as required
  2. Assisting with writing funding and grant applications
  3. Supporting fundraising activities and managing fundraising events
  4. Creating and sending electronic newsletters using Mailchimp and website editing to partnering organisations, potential donors, charities and any other current or potential stakeholders
  5. Drafting Trustee meeting agendas and minutes
  6. Maintaining the Charity’s records and databases
  7. Support with monitoring of the services being offered and tracking performance against strategic and operational objectives
  8. Supporting the CEO with profile raising and media campaigns across a range of media channels.

Persons specification:

We’re looking for individuals with the following skills, qualities and experience:

  • Fundraising experience
  • Excellent organisational and administration skills, with superior attention to detail
  • Experience of putting together project proposals
  • Experience of organising and running events

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to confidently liaise with a range of stakeholders
  • Experience of producing quality written communication
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Strong initiative adopting a proactive approach
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
  • Professional phone etiquette and customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Docs,
Sheets, Slides)
  • Familiarity with MailChimp and WordPress (desirable, but not essential)
  • An Administration or fundraising qualification (desirable, but not essential)
  • A UK driving licence
